History of casinos

The history of gambling houses dating back several years before Christ, although the word casino, as we know it today, date from the late SXVIII. It is a word of Italian origin, meaning "country house", where casinos originated we know today.

Historians have yet to agree the date and place of origin of the gambling houses. Some are inclined to think it was in Babylon, with the play of the wheel other q in ancient China, some of which are Arab, and was carried to Europe by the British in times of crusades, and so on. As shown, there are several trends that have not shed light on the true birth of the casino.

In the beginning, in Europe, the gambling houses were intended for the noble and powerful caste. Besides gambling, the select visitors could enjoy music, varied dishes and pleasant company.

The opposite happened in America, where Hall was visited by people from "low ilk" as they were known. So much did the bad reputation of these places, different governments and laws implemented strict controls about it.

Data are recorded bets from the year 2300 BC in ancient China.
Gambling is as old as humanity itself. For example the Greeks and the Olympics, where betting on any particular athlete, the Roman circus, the jousting, the horse races, or history (or perhaps legend) of two kings vied Nordic territory between Norway and Sweden by dice.

Many of the games that are currently known in the casinos, evolved from ancient games, such as keno, lottery game popular in ancient China.
Most Played, such as roulette and poker, from Europe.

Currently, and as happened since the regularized casinos in the world, the profits of these houses are a very important contribution in taxes, depending on the local economy in the contributions. The clearest example is Las Vegas, whose economy revolves around the casinos that offer not only casinos, but also have spread a net with a great hospitality, and culinary.
